Annotation tab

Default mask expansion raised from 8px to 20px, so rims and handles are less likely to be clipped out of the box

Export

position and rotation (internal fields used by the orientation classifier) are no longer written to the exported metadata CSV

New Select tool (V) to select and move whole vessels and single vertices
Ctrl+Z now undoes the polygon edits
Each vessel shows again the scale zone it belongs to (Z1, Z2, …) on the canvas and in the lists

Export

Cards are numbered in the natural order of the plates (page 2 before page 10) instead of alphabetical order
merged_annotations.csv keeps the type, position and rotation of each vessel (they were lost when merging with the classification file)

Models

When PyPotteryLens is started from the launcher, the YOLO and classifier weights are stored in the suite’s shared model cache and appear in the launcher’s Downloaded AI Models list. Weights found in the old folder are moved there once. Started on its own, nothing changes

Interface and reliability

New header and About window, in the style of the other modules, with a hardware chip and a Copy citation button
Fonts and icons are served from the app, so the interface looks the same without an internet connection
Crashes are reported with a timestamp and the name of the thread that failed, which makes problems easier to diagnose

Annotation tab

Nested vessel support: new Polygon tool (LabelMe-style) to outline by hand vessels drawn inside other vessels, which the model would otherwise miss; each polygon is extracted as its own card, and the inner area is whitened out of the containing card
Zoom & pan on the canvas, and a visible ring cursor for the brush and eraser
Colorize mode: every disconnected mask region gets a distinct hue, so fused regions are immediately visible

Tabular tab

AI extraction improvements: dynamic token budget prevents truncated JSON, and a robust parser recovers partial responses
Canonical column names via [square brackets] in the prompt
“Numbers from crops” option for small inventory numbers, for both single-page and batch extraction
Box visibility toggle and a Clear Table button
“Export Combined CSV” removed: tabular data is read directly from cards/mask_info.csv at export time

Post Processing tab

Grid view showing all pieces at real relative size, replacing the one-at-a-time navigator
Per-card hover controls (flip, ENT/FRAG toggle, exclude from export) and a full-screen lightbox

Export and fixes
