Postdoctoral researcher, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen DFG project “Metal Trade, Empires and War”, from June 2026

I am an archaeologist working on the quantitative study of pottery. My PhD (University of Bari, 2024, cum laude) used data science and machine learning to measure how vessel shapes varied and became standardised in Italy between the second and the first half of the first millennium BC. It was published as a monograph by Edipuglia.

In Göttingen I apply natural language processing and named entity recognition to archaeological documents. The data and code behind my research are public on GitHub.
